Four panels painted.
The rest of the wall waits.

Propose a partnership

Kochlit is a small studio looking for partners. Four areas are painted on this wall today; the rest is blank glaze, kept for work we have not named yet. If one of these panels is yours, or the blank one is, we would like to hear from you.

How we keep a test honest

A patchwork of nine sewn worlds with mixed-language words: azulejo tiles, navy album cloth with an engraved lake, marbled ebru, a TURAN coffee stamp on kraft, a brass VU meter, an alphabet sampler in cross stitch, a Lado A record sleeve with mango and hibiscus, a rose frame and a lacquered shelf; four area cards with an orrery, a Jacquard loom, a valve transmitter and a pocket watch. An AI test only means something if the model has never seen it. Keeping it secret works until someone asks you to prove you did not change it. A salted hash does both.

  1. 1
Commit. Each test item is joined with a long random salt and run through SHA-256.
  2. 2
Publish. Only the hashes go public. Without the salt they reveal nothing, not even for short answers.
  3. 3
Reveal. After the evaluation, the items and the salt are released.
  4. 4
Verify. Anyone recomputes the hashes. One changed character and the seal breaks.

Try it. This runs in your browser; nothing is sent anywhere.

The four panels, in full

01 Research in education

Learning, measured

With teachers, schools and education researchers, on questions that can be tested: what really helps a student understand, and what only feels like progress.

Open to study design, classroom pilots, tutoring tools, fair assessment, joint grants.

You bring the classroom. We bring method and software.

02 AI testing and research

Tests that stay sealed

Benchmarks leak: once a test is public, models learn it. We build private evaluations and seal each item with a salted hash, so anyone can later check the test was never changed.

Open to model evaluation, red teaming, domain test sets.

03 Hardware and embedded software

Close to the metal

Firmware, sensors, low-power boards and the code that must run on them for years. We want partners with a device to measure, shrink, or simply understand.

Open to joint research, prototype firmware, test rigs, on-device AI.

Measurements, not datasheet promises.

04 Niche luxury across borders

Rare goods, well made

Some of the finest goods come from small workshops few people abroad know. We want to find them, see the craft first-hand, and bring it to buyers in other countries who care how a thing is made.

Open to makers, curators, buyers, provenance partners.

The blank tiles are not missing. They are kept white on purpose; new areas and worked examples will be painted on them as conversations happen.

How a partnership starts

  1. 1

    A few lines by email

Who you are, what you want to find out or make, and why now. No deck needed.

  2. 2

    A short call

We talk it through and both sides decide, honestly, whether it fits.

  3. 3

    One small first piece

A single experiment, prototype or sourcing visit before anything bigger. Trust grows from finished work.
